End of the Year Update/Newsletter

We are Still Here!

Sorry we haven't posted on this blog in forever! We have been keeping our personal blog pretty up-to-date, but this poor little blog has been sorely neglected! We apologize for that!

Anyways, things are going well with VAM - I'll be posting our latest newsletter on here soon with all our latest news. For now, here's a picture of one of the sweet little boys we work with - I love him!

Fall Festival

We had our second annual Fall Festival on our new camp land this past weekend. It was a blast!!
Over 60 kids from at-risk communities were able to attend (thanks to some of our partner ministries), along with lots of our supporters, family, and friends.

Chick-fil-a generously provided us with Sweet Tea for everyone, Ready-Mix-USA cooked up some delicious burgers and hot dogs, and we had hot apple cider and fresh apples to top off a beautiful, crisp, clear fall day!
There was hay-rides, pony-rides, hay-jumping, pumpkin painting, face-painting, soccer, basketball, camp tours . . . It could not have been a more perfect day!
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed and attended - we hope you had a great time, and we're already looking forward to next year!

September Newsletter

For those of you who have been following/supporting us for a while, you probably already received our newsletter this month (hopefully! If you haven't, but would like a paper copy or want to get them in the future, just let me know).

But because I'm a little behind on, well, life this month, I'm just now getting around to posting the newsletter up here too. Want more info etc? Just let us know!

Looking Ahead

I know it's been forever since we updated this blog. Adam has been working for the past two weeks on getting the mentoring program ready, going, moving . . . Since he's starting from scratch, everything is taking a little longer than he/we anticipated. We just wanted you all to know that we are so excited about what's ahead and the plans that we feel like the Lord has given us for the program.

For anyone who was planning on coming to our first training session, we have moved it (obviously) and we are tentatively scheduling it for the beginning of November. I know that seems like a long ways off, but we really want all of our mentors to feel like we are really preparing them for what they're doing (because it is SO important!) Thanks to everyone for your prayers, support, and patience!
